Jeton Neziraj, b. 1977, Kaçanik/Kosovo, is one of Kosovo’s most celebrated playwrights. He has written over 20 plays, which have been widely performed in Europe and in the USA. After studying theater at the University of Prishtina, Neziraj was named artistic director at the National Theatre of Kosovo. He currently heads the Prishtina-based production company Qendra Multimedia which is a showcase for contemporary theater.
Several of his plays were produced and presented in Germany, including The Bridge, Kosovo for Dummies, Peer Gynt from Kosovo and Yue Madeleine Yue. Neziraj’s plays explore political and everyday life in Kosovo, as well as stories about emigrants.
Neziraj has published articles on culture and politics in Kosovar and international magazines. He is also a member of the European Cultural Parliament.
